How is solar energy produced?
The operation of a photovoltaic power plant starts in the solar modules, composed of solar cells, which transform solar energy into direct current electricity (photovoltaic effect). Solar inverters then convert direct current (DC) into alternating current (AC) – the power type needed in homes, factories and businesses – so that the power can be sued in the electricity distribution network.
In many of Solarig’s green hydrogen projects, the power from the solar farm is directly connected to the hydrogen production facility. There, it is used to power the electrolysis process, in which water is split into its constituent parts – Oxygen and Hydrogen.
